A note from Waditha
I took this road myself.
I sat the Leaving Cert in Ireland wanting one thing: to study medicine. The points didn’t fall my way, and the CAO door closed.
Instead of repeating the year — or letting go of medicine altogether — I looked at English-taught medical schools in Europe. Today I’m a second-year medical student at Medical University of Pleven in Bulgaria.
I’ve sat the entrance exam, filed the applications, booked the flights, found the apartment and worked out the first month in a new country. When I guide a family through this, it comes from lived experience — not a brochure.
